Read Me I have been a member of deviantART since 2003 and I was happy to be part of this community, but now I don’t have the same feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still happy to be here, but I don’t like the direction dA is heading. I had a lot of good friends when I joined, and now I don’t know where half those people are.
There are a lot of amazing people here with wonderful works of art and photos, but sadly these people don’t get credit for their work because they are in the shadows of the more popular deviants. It seems to me that you have to be popular before people will look at your work, and I may be wrong about that but it’s just what I’ve come to notice.
I don’t have anything to submit at the moment, and it’s going to be like that for a while. What's there is there, and will probably be taken down soon. With that being said I’m going to comment and favour works by other deviants; I favour something because I like it, not because everyone else did. To my friends who are still here you know who you are, and to anyone else who adds me as a friend I’m very grateful for that.

but honestly, i don't really mind about favs, comments and popularity. i don't think DA is the place for that, people should only use it as a "virtual portfolio", and share it with others, friends and people who are passing by... it's not a matter of life and death if you don't have comments a lot, i think. but maybe this is just my opinion...
i didn't add you to my watchlist, now i will. i like you're gallery and you appear to me to be an interresting person.

Deviantart...yes, I noticed people vanishing.
And: I agree on the appreciation part! It is a shame so many wonderful artists sit around in the shadow.!
On that note: I love your photography!
I always appreciate it when ppl do the same for me...
....and I havent been on dA for too terribly long so I havent experienced all that you were talking about...but I do think you're coming from the right direction and I agree with your point of view... :]

sometimes, you submit something that you'rereally proud about and no one deign to leave a nice word or even just look at it... it's frustrating and it leaves you the impression that your work is useless, you're right.
but just like "in real life", people who really want to be seen will do everything they can for it... give watches, faves and silly comments everytime they can... honestly, i prefer to watch only interresting artists, give comments when i have something to say and have real relations with people instead of being popular

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but thats the part that sent alarms off in my head. lol. Please don't take your stuff down! When I comment, and I know that's not often lately, I always like to look through your stuff and leave comments on it-- you and I have been DA friends for ages and I always look forward to looking at your pictures because you've always produced such amazing work, and you've always been so incredibly kind. I'd be so sad if you stopped submitting and took all of your art down.
